Our Sale on Commission service
How it works:
If you have an instrument that you would like to sell, then we can help. Simply follow the steps below to get started:
- Fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page with the details of your instrument, giving as much detail as possible.
- Send your instrument to us by following this link, using our fully insured courier service.
- Once we have received the instrument we will advise on sale price and any repairs that we may recommend for your instrument.
- We will list your instrument for sale on our website and advertise it in store at the agreed price.
- We will take 20%* commission from the nett selling price, calculated after card fees, repairs needed and any other costs of sale.
- Receive your money directly in to your bank or by PayPal as you prefer.
* Minimum commission charge is £50.
The ‘nett selling price’ will take in to account costs directly related to the sale. For example: taxes, card fees, delivery and any work needed on your instrument.

What you can expect from us:
When your instrument arrives with us , it will be inspected by an expert technician who will assess the overall condition of the instrument.
After this, we will be in touch to discuss sale price. Customers purchasing an item from us expect it to arrive in good condition and ready to play, so all instruments will be serviced prior to sale, and If the instrument needs repairs or other attention we will do the work required as we see fit to best effect the successful sale of your item. We will deduct the cost of any workshop expenses from the final sale price of your item. ie you do not have to pay until after the sale.
Your instrument will be expertly photographed and have a good written description presented to give it the best chance of a sale. You will be able to find your listing on our website by searching for your Surname. We pay for advertising with Google, Facebook, pay per click links and other sources. – there is no charge to you for this.
After this point you will not receive any communication from us regarding your instrument until a sale or offer has been made that we would like to discuss with you.
On completion of a sale customers have 30 days statutory right of return or ‘cooling off period’. We will notify you of the sale after this time and payment will be made to you by bank transfer or PayPal as you prefer typically at the end of the month following the cooling off period. Any workshop bills or other costs such as post and packing, card processing fees, website promotions, taxes or any pre approved special advertising etc. will be deducted from the final sale price – you don’t need to pay for these up front.
If you change your mind about selling an item which has been advertised and withdraw the item from sale we charge an administration fee of £30 to cover the costs of photography and marketing.
Whilst your instrument is with us we are responsible for it. If we allow your instrument to be tried or tested by a customer or send it out ‘on approval‘ we take full responsibility for the item. If any loss or damage occurs whilst your instrument is in our care the transaction will dealt with as if your instrument had been sold.
